It's so easy and affordable to create your prints and albums online today and not only can you have all the fun of putting the pictures together yourself you'll also save a small fortune compared to the traditional wedding packages where the cost of a professional album can be a substantial, but hidden cost.
Photobooks are great, they are brilliant value, the print quality is very good indeed and they are a more modern alternative to the traditional album.
You the couple get to choose which photos go in and where – so much more fun than paying someone else to do it for you.
It’s easy to create a design to reflect your own individual personality.
It’s easy to make multiple copies including at different sizes and formats. Say you want a really big hardback wedding book for yourselves, you could make a smaller version for your parents or even a tiny paperback for your guests. Please note you may have to change the text size, the software will, however, transfer your original design and photo layout easily if you keep the same shape book.
The software saves your design, so if in a few years time your wedding book is looking a bit world worn or tatty, you can simply order a fresh one.
If I’m asked to make a photobook I almost use a company called Blurb. Not only are they easy to use, their printing quality is second to none in the online books market. Plus as they add new features it’s becoming easier and easier to create a keepsake with the stamp of your own personality on it.
On top of that (something that’s important for me!) the software is easy to use. Honestly, I’m no computer geek, so if I can use it so can you.
You don’t really need me to tell you have to use Blurb as it’s very intuitive. Simply follow the link to the Blurb Wedding Books Page and click on Get Started.
You’ll be asked to download the software called Booksmart which you can easily use to design your photobook.
There’s a few choices of standard designs – which make it really easy to use. Or you can choose to wing it.
Next you’ll be asked to chose a size and format (paperback or hardback).
Upload your photos to Booksmart – make sure you choose the high-resolution “print” files and NOT the web files.
Just drag and drop your photos into the book from the file folders on the left.
