For such an ancient looking place it might be surprising to hear that Pencoed House Estate is the new kid amongst the wedding venues in the Cardiff area. They only started weddings in the summer of 2012 (I was there for their 8th wedding) but the combination of beautiful grounds filled with slow running streams and a 15th century manor house, with a restored barn as the main wedding/ reception area, soon meant they had a hit on their hands.
I have several more weddings there since and have found the variety of the grounds make for a superb variety of wedding photographs for the bride and groom. There are trees in abundance, streams, bridges, an island, and a long tree lined drive, together with some more formal gardens with steps etc, ideal for those family and friends groups.
Set in a peaceful location on the 'Old Llantrisant Road' about 10 minuites drive from Llandaff on the edge of Cardiff, you couldn't ask for a better location.
This is Ellie and Rhod's wedding, bridal preparation was at the cottage on Pencoed House Estate, the service was at the nearby church in Pentyrch and the reception was back at Pencoed House Estate. The brief was a simple half day with a photojournalistic style, some informal groups shots and something a bit more creative for the bride and groom.
